Take a delightful trip down memory lane with our captivating canvas print, featuring a charming 1977 photo showcasing a trolley from the Detroit Citizens Railway. The Citizens Railway in Detroit opened in 1976 and ran for about a mile through the downtown area. It started on Washington Blvd (near Grand Circus) then headed south down Washington to Jefferson where it turned left and ended by the Renaissance Center.

It was designed purely as a tourist attraction and used a fleet of 9 vintage trams from Europe. By the 1990s it was carrying less than 5,000 people a year and only one tram was in use. The system eventually closed in 2003 and the track was ripped up and the car barn tore down (this was located outside the David Witney building).
